Geoff Forrest - Pebble Basket

Geoff has spent many years learning traditional basket making techniques, as well as more contemporary sculptural methods, and constructing with living willow. In recent years he has refined his basket making to two forms, ‘pebble’ and ‘wave’.

Geoff uses buff willow, grown and prepared from his supplier of many years. From a paired base he works a three rod wale against curved uprights to create either a ‘pebble’ or ‘wave’ basket.

The completed piece is then painted with gesso and sprayed with several coats of acrylic colour, a sealant finishes the process.
