Kate Millbank - Diving Gannets

Diving Gannets features the iconic Bass Rock, situated just off the coast of North Berwick and host to the largest colony of Northern Gannets in Europe. The gannets are shown swirling and diving into the surrounding sea and the print tries to capture the sense of movement and vitality as you watch them.    

For this print local artist Kate has combined the graphic qualities and bold marks of lino printing with a more fluid hand painted background which helps to bring a sense of movement and  freedom to the print.
